- Is fairly traded and all parties involved in the supply chain are treated and paid fairly
- Is manufactured to minimise the impact that the raw materials and production processes have on the environment
- Is produced using sustainable or recycled raw materials
- Does not release harmful chemicals during the manufacturing process
- Is easily recycleable or biodegradeable at the end of its useful life
- Is manufactured locally and / or transported efficiently
